MIDWIFERY / OBSTETRICS & GYNAECOLOGICAL NURSING (OBGY) DEPARTMENT

The Midwifery / Obstetrics & Gynecological Nursing (OBGY) Department is dedicated to preparing nursing students to provide comprehensive care to women during pregnancy, childbirth, puerperium and various gynaecological conditions. The department focuses on promoting safe motherhood, women’s health and family welfare. The department imparts knowledge and skills related to antenatal, intranatal and postnatal care, normal and high-risk pregnancies, newborn care, family planning, reproductive health and gynaecological disorders. Students receive extensive clinical training in maternity hospitals and labour rooms to develop competence, confidence and professional responsibility. The OBGY Department aims to develop skilled, compassionate and ethically sound nurses who can provide quality maternal and gynaecological care, educate women and families, and contribute effectively to reducing maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality in the community.
